Food

Quantities 15-20 people per team, 24 teams 6 or so volunteers per day

Preliminary thoughts on food (01-05-09) Dave Cooke

  • I think that it's good to include flat bread of some sort, in addition to bread rolls, as the flat bread goes further and suits some people's diets better. So I would think one roll per person, and one pack of flat bread per team
  • Plenty of fruit & veg… Bananas, oranges, apples & ? available at frisbee central
  • 2 tomatoes, 1 cucumber, 1 lettuce, & ? per team per day
  • Watermelon - for JK and Shavawn
  • Dips & spreads - a couple of varieties per team per day
  • Hot salami, ham, other suggestions? - 0.5 kg per team? per day
  • Gatorade powder (1 per team per day)
  • Chocolate (1 or 2 bars per team per day)
  • Other sugar-hit devices (1 bag per team per day)
  • Chopping boards (1 per team)
  • Knives that can cut tomatoes (2 or three per team)
  • Washing baskets or some other recyclable carrying apparatus (1 per team) - or do we want to provide eskies with CSIRO ice every day, to keep the watermelon cold?
  • Garbage bags (1 per team per day)
Anything that I've missed?

Kiosk

Will we have some sort of kiosk selling stuff like soft drinks and chocolate bars? Who is responsible for that? Should that be included in this exercise or should it be separate?

Alysia Prevost phoned Clarence Football Club (Leigh Mayne) on 14/07/09 to find out about using the canteen front counter and having back room access to the external serving window. Leigh is in Adelaide and will call her back 15/07/09 on his return to Tas.

Soft drink and chocolates Alysia has asked for in sponsorship letter to Schweppes.

Drink

Beer

Liquor Licence Need to clarify with CCC the rules and regulations for setting up a beer garden at Wentworth park.

Micro brewers (30-04-09) Tim Phillips has contacted Willie, one of the local micro brewers in Hobart. Tim is meeting with him today to see if Willie or one of the other micro brewers may be interested in supplying beer at AMUC.

We are asking for beer to be supplied on Saturday night from 4 for the highlight game. Beer to be available from 4 on Sunday for general consumption. Beer to be available from 12 on Monday for the finals.

Amount needed has not yet been estimated. Waiting to see what interest Tim gets at the meeting this afternoon with Willie who says he will take our request to the micro brewer meeting later today.

(01-05-09) Tim has gotten a response from Willie and TAMI (Tasmanian Association Micro brewers ?):

There are five members of TAMI. They have all agreed to donate 2 kegs each to their industry body. This body will then provide the kegs and servers for the tournament for free. The result is that we will have to pay as individuals for the beer (~$5 a cup) but the tournament will not have to buy any alcohol as part of its budget.

Basically TAMI is looking as this event as a fund raiser.

Tim has made it clear that we do not want their expectations to be to high as we can not guarantee that all kegs will be drunk or that the 'fund raising' is as high as they expect.

TAMI has requested that the AMUC TOC organise the liquor licence and do all policing required in the licence.

We have also offered to have a link on our website to their websites. We will also have posters around the kiosk with their logos.

Wine

(30-04-09) Would like to get support from one or more of the Coal River valley wines. Tim also has a contact with them. He will look into this option later in the week.

Would like to have only a few bottles available for alternate drink. Could also use wine for prizes
