Contact Person: Alison Hardwick

Phone: 6271 0333

Email: volunteers@stjohntas.org.au

A Prevost spoke to A Hardwick on 04/08/09 and she provided the following information.

Cost is $33 per hour. This includes 2 first aid officers, all equipment and a vehicle. 8 hours (9am to 5pm) for 3 days would be $792.00.

A Prevost to seek approval from committe and confirm with A Harwick at least 28 days prior to the event.

A Harwick advised that they may not be able to get Volnteers for our event so until we get back to her she is unable to confirm 100%.

Feedback from Ambulance Officers around Hobart is that we would be better off seeking assistance from Tas Ambulance or Ambulance Private….

Response

David from Ambulance Private rang and gave me a rough quote of $45 per hour but wanted more detail from us so he could quote accurately.

He wanted to know

How many grounds we will be using at Wentworth at any one time. How many injuries occurred at last years event, and how many per day. What type of injuries did they encounter.

David also mentioned that in the past there have been Reciprocal Ambulance Services across the states and territories of Australia but it is dwindling off so that we may need to encourage our participants to get travel insurance so that if transported to hospital during competition or at any time during there stay here in Tassie that they don't get slugged with $1000 Ambulance bill.
