The Vice President shall assist the President in the overall management of the TUA and all its operations.
The Vice President is elected by the TUA members and responsible for representing the views of the TUA members.
The Vice president should:
Act as the President's deputy and shall assist the President in his or her duties at all times.
Be appointed as the Public Officer of the TUA liaising with members of the public, affiliated bodies and government agencies, unless another Committee member has been appointed as Public Officer.
In the absence of the President the Vice President:
should act as chairperson of any Committee meetings.
will act on behalf of the President. Therefore it is required that the Vice President be familiar with all of the duties of the TUA President in preparation for a term in office.
Assist the Executive Committee in the development of one-year operational plans.
Assist the Committee in the creation, renewal and approval of TUA policies for good governance where needed.
Be subscribed to afda-congress, tua-admin and any other relevant TUA committee and executive email lists.
Complete a handover interview on entering and exiting position.
Access to internet, email, web, and a word processing program.
Strong written (especially email) and oral communication skills.
Be a member of the AFDA and TUA and abide by their policies.
Work well in a team.
Ideally the Vice President is someone who:
Communicates effectively and has good interpersonal skills.
Is well organised.
Has a good knowledge of the TUA and AFDA operations, rules and policies.
Is well informed of all organisation activities.
The Vice President is elected at the TUA AGM and is appointed for a term of 12 months.
The estimated time commitment required as the Vice President of the TUA is 5 hours per week.
