Key documents for the TUA include:
An incorporated association for flying disc sports in Australia. The TUA is an AFDA affiliate, with corresponding bodies in most states. The AFDA is in turn an affiliate of WFDF – the World Flying Disc Federation. All TUA members become AFDA members when they play flying disc sports and pay Event Based Fees (EBF). This is critical since the TUA receives public liability insurance through its AFDA affiliation. The AFDA is also responsible for national competitions, selecting national representative teams, maintaining the AFDA website, policy, development, coaching, and liaising with WFDF.
In January 2008, the TUA entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the AFDA. The MoU seeks to clarify how responsibilities and powers are to be shared between the two top levels of governance of flying disc sports in Australia. You should become familiar with the responsibilities of the TUA in this MoU.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is the Australian Government body that manages, develops and invests in sport at all levels. It works closely with a range of national sporting organisations, state and local governments, schools and community organisations to ensure sport is well run and accessible.
The WAFDA continues to strengthen a professional relationship with the ASC through the Active After-School Communities (AASC) program. The AASC program focuses on developing grass roots sport and getting young people actively participating in sport in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.
More information about the ASC can be found at: http://www.ausport.gov.au/
The Department of Justice – Consumer Affairs and Trading administers the governance of all incorporated associations on behalf of Tasmanian State Legislation. Incoming Executive Committee members should be aware of their rights and responsibilities under the Associations Incorporation Act 1964 which are referred to in the TUA constitution. The Secretary should be able to provide you with these documents, or you may learn more at: http://www.consumer.tas.gov.au/business_affairs/incorporated_associations
